About

I’m a photographer living in China, documenting the country through its places, people, and everyday moments.

I moved to China in 2016, and over the years I realized how different the lived reality here is from how it’s often portrayed or imagined abroad. Most stories focus on extremes, headlines, or postcard landmarks. What interested me instead were the in-between moments: daily life, quiet streets, small interactions, and landscapes shaped by history and people.

My work focuses on human-centered photography, combining visual storytelling with cultural context. I don’t aim to explain China in absolutes, but to offer perspective, nuance, and space for curiosity. Every photograph is shaped not just by light and composition, but by time spent listening, observing, and learning.

Because I live here and speak Chinese, I’m able to move beyond surface impressions. Many of the places and people I photograph are part of everyday China, not tourist highlights. The goal isn’t to romanticize or criticize, but to show what is, with honesty and respect.

This website exists as a slower counterpart to social media. It’s a place for deeper photo stories, practical insights, and reflections that don’t fit into a single post. If my work helps you see China with a bit more clarity, empathy, or curiosity, then it’s doing what it’s meant to do.
